Manslaughter charges brought in fatal Destrehan shooting

St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a 25-year-old Destrehan man.

Donald Daughdrill, 68, was charged with one count of manslaughter for the shooting death of Weston Keller.

Daughdrill is currently held without bond in the St. Charles Parish jail.

Just after 5 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a call in the 3700 block of Tara Drive in Destrehan.

When they arrived, they found Keller lying on the floor with a gunshot wound.

An EMS crew worked to revive him, but he died at the scene.

Daughdrill, was inside the apartment along with another witness when authorities arrived.

He was in an argument with Weston when he pulled a gun and shot him once in the chest.
