A man is dead after being hit by a pickup truck when he was lying down in the middle of the road near Covington.
Lucien Barbarin died when he was struck on Highway 190 early Saturday morning. A state police report said investigators are trying to determine why Barbarin was lying down in the road.
The truck driver, Paul Olsen Junior, remained at the scene but was arrested for vehicular homicide after he tested positive for alcohol at .085, just over the legal limit.
