Figures show the state is digging an even deeper hole when it comes to spending for college students.
Last year, Louisiana was $56 million behind Florida when it comes to per college student spending. This year, it trails Florida by almost three times that amount.
By comparison, Delaware spends about $30,000 a year on each public college student, while Louisiana spends about $12,000.
