Bill To Do Away With State Vehicle Inspections Dies

Many drivers liked the idea of doing away with mandatory vehicle inspections, but law enforcement did not.

So with the influence of Louisiana State Police officials, a bill to get rid of state inspection stickers for most vehicles died in a State House committee Monday.

Law enforcement officials say they wanted to kill the bill because of public safety concerns.
