New Charges For Chalmette Man Accused Of Trying To Kill Deputies

Investigators say a Chalmette man already facing charges for trying to kill two St. Bernard Parish deputies is facing new gun and drug charges after an arrest.

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office says they arrested Tyrine Wiltz and his mother last week after they found Wiltz with a sawed-off shotgun, $8000 in cash, and six pounds of marijuana in his car.

They found more drugs and money at his home.

Wiltz had just gotten out of jail on attempted murder charges for trying to run down two St. Bernard deputies earlier this month.
