The New Orleans Sewage & Water Board is the target of a civil lawsuit filed yesterday by an activist group and an historic church.
The New Orleans Advocate reports the New Orleans People's Assembly and Sixth Union Baptist Church want a judge to issue an order that requires the agency to warn residents about problems with the operation that could lead to future flooding.
The lawsuit contends the S&WB is in violation of state and federal constitutions through its lack of adequate and timely notice to citizens of the city.
