A Southeast Louisiana man is now facing a second-degree murder charge in the beating of his father over the weekend.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office upgraded the aggravated battery charge that 27-year-old Casey Melerine of Lacombe was initially arrested for after his 57-year-old dad died of his injuries.
The victim's name has not been released. He was left in critical condition Saturday night after a fight with his son.
