A report released today by The Data Center says that jail conditions in Orleans Parish have remained "inhumane" for nearly three centuries.

The conclusion is included in the first of a series of reports coming from the independent non-profit research group as New Orleans marks its tricentennial of existence.

The report demonstrates how the current and past poor conditions of the jail have contributed to "racial inequality" in New Orleans today.
