There's a new push on for New Orleans city officials to do something about the violence plaguing the Big Easy.

Hundreds of students from several schools marched to City Hall Thursday from the Superdome to urge an end to gun violence in the city and express their hope for a peaceful future.

The march and rally were sparked by the recent murder of 15-year-old Chance Smith, a freshman student at Eleanor McMain.

The protest got the attention of city leaders, including Mayor LaToya Cantrell who wants to create a youth advisory committee to help find solutions to the city's crime problem.
