Students who thought they would be returning to classes Tuesday at Hammond High Magnet School will have one more unexpected day off.

The school was closed Monday due to social media threats, but announced that afternoon plans to open on Tuesday.

That morning, the Tangipahoa Parish School System announced on their website and social media that was not the case and the school would remain closed for a second day. All other schools in the system were open.

Classes are now expected to resume on Wednesday.

Authorities statewide were busy Monday with threats made to schools statewide.
