Visitors to New Orleans could, in the future, find a less abundant crop of short-term rental property.
City Council members gave first-round approval yesterday to a set of more restrictive regulations, including restricting short-term rentals to properties with a homestead exemption.
It also bans rentals in most of the city's French Quarter and in all of the Garden District.
