Teen's Body Pulled From St. Tammany Waterway

The body of a 14-year-old boy has been recovered from the East Pearl River.

Rescue crews were called out to the waterway just after 5 p.m. yesterday after they boy jumped into the water and never resurfaced.

Family members say the group decided to go swimming and when everyone returned to the boat, the boy was nowhere to be found.

Crews were able to locate the boy's body in the area where he was last seen just before midnight.

An autopsy is being done to determine the cause and matter of death.
