A murder suspect is finally coming to New Orleans after an arrest, an accidental release, and a rearrest over a three month span.

Authorities in Houston arrested Shayne Davis in May in connection with an Algiers killing.

His extradition to the city was delayed as the suspect was recovering from gunshot wounds, and after a 30-day deadline to keep him in custody lapsed, he was released from jail.

He was arrested again in Colorado last week.

He is suspected of shooting Joseph Powell to death and wounding another on May 1.

The 58-year-old Powell died at the hospital.
