One person from Metairie is $2 million richer after a ticket they purchased hit five numbers on a $2 Powerball ticket this weekend.
Lottery officials confirmed yesterday the winning ticket had been sold at Superior Discount on Metairie Road and matched the numbers drawn on Saturday night.
According to data from the 44 states which run the Powerball lottery, the odds of hitting the $2 million prize are one in $11 million.
The next Powerball drawing will be on Wednesday night with an estimated payout of $140 million.
