Request To Move Jack Strain Case Out of St. Tammany Parish Denied

A request to move the case against former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain out of the parish is being denied.

Ad Hoc Judge Ed Gaidry made the ruling yesterday after interviewing 24 potential jurors about any likely bias in the case.

The request to change venues had come from the district attorney over fears an impartial jury could not be found in the parish that elected Strain as sheriff.

Strain is being tried on eight counts of sex crimes against juveniles with a trial scheduled to begin on April 20th.
