Two Building Inspectors On Hard Rock Hotel Suspended

US-HOTEL-CONSTRUCTION-ACCIDENT

The city is suspending two building inspectors who approved work on the Hard Rock Hotel construction project before October's collapse that killed three workers.

Officials announced yesterday that senior building inspectors Julie Tweeter and Eric Treadaway were each suspended for 30 days without pay amid allegations of them falsifying public records for filing reports on "unconducted inspections."

According to reports, Tweeter and Treadaway didn't show up for inspections on at least eight dates since March, including on dates they claimed in public records to have inspected the Hard Rock.

The city also sent a suspension letter to Senior Inspector Thomas Dwyer, but records show he filed for retirement the week prior.
