Louisiana has added an additional 2,166 COVID-19 cases to its rolling total, state health officials announced Saturday.

Collection dates for most of the latest cases fell within the past week. "95% of the cases reported to the state today were community spread. 35% of the cases reported today are of individuals aged 29 and under," said the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of coronavirus cases since the pandemic began is now 76,803 after LDH made adjustments due to the daily removal newly identified duplicates and out-of-state cases.

Hospitalizations have increased by 65 to 1,182 with 121 patients on ventilators, down one from Friday.

LDH added that 23 additional deaths are being blamed on COVID-19, bringing that total to 3,295.

More detailed information, including breakdowns by parish and LDH regions, is available on the department's online coronavirus dashboard.
