Vice President Mike Pence is confident Louisiana will overcome its rising coronavirus cases.
"Because of the efforts of everyone in this room, because of the cooperation of the people of that great city and this great state, we not only slowed the spread and we bent the curve. And we're going to do it again," Pence said during a visit to the state Tuesday.
Speaking at the Emergency Operations Center in Baton Rouge, the Vice President acknowledged the recent surge in cases after it was presumed the state had its outbreak under control.
He met with Governor John Bel Edwards and other state officials to discuss its response to the virus.
Pence applauded the efforts of leaders and residents for their continued fight amid the pandemic.
