New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is urging residents to let city officials handle any of the hazards left behind from Hurricane Zeta after it barreled through the city on Wednesday.

"Our public safety officials are beginning to assess the damages. This is not for residents to do themselves," Cantrell told reporters.

As of Thursday morning, over 119,000 residents in Orleans Parish remain without power. Entergy says it could take three to five days for most to have the lights back on.
