Grammy-winning trumpeter Irvin Mayfield and his business partner Ronald Markham are pleading guilty to stealing $1 million in library donations.

The two were in court yesterday to plead guilty to 34 overt criminal acts of wire and mail fraud that were folded into a single indictment.

The pair are accused of funneling $1.3 million meant for the public library to the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.

Both men were released on bond and are due back in court for sentencing in early February.
