Ka'Mauri Harrison is heading to court this week.
Officials announced yesterday that Harrison, a fourth-grader from Harvey, will have an appeal before the Jefferson Parish School Board on Friday over an incident that occurred during virtual learning in September.
According to reports, the school district suspended Harrison after a teacher saw him handle a BB gun during a virtual class.
Harrison and his father, Nyron Harrison, have maintained that Ka'Mauri sought to move a BB gun so his younger brother, with whom he shares the room, wouldn't trip over it.
Officials say the hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m.
