City Council members will no longer accept political donations from Entergy New Orleans.
Council members approved a resolution on Tuesday which bans current members from taking contributions from Entergy's political action committee or any other public contractors.
Councilwoman Helena Moreno said the move is aimed at building public confidence in the council to properly manage public utilities and the firms that it employs.
If approved by the full council, the resolution will be sent to candidates for council seats in July.
