LDH Reports More Than 100 Cases Of Omicron In Louisiana, Most In NOLA

State health officials are reporting nearly 100 probable cases of the omicron variant of coronavirus, mostly in the New Orleans area.

On Wednesday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 48 more probable cases of the variant, for a total of 93 in the state.

Of those 93 cases, 81 are in the New Orleans area. Ten of those 81 cases are confirmed, and the other 71 are probable.

LDH says none of the 48 new cases required hospitalization, but cases are being detected in schools, universities, and nursing homes.
