Community activist Gary Chambers is in the running for U.S. Senate.
Chambers is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate seat held by Republican Senator John Kennedy, who is running for reelection.
Chambers is a Baton Rouge community organizer and social justice advocate who has previously run for Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District. He says he's prioritizing economic aid, voting rights, and Medicare.
Luke Mixon, a Democrat from Bunkie, is running for the same Senate seat, along with an independent and a socialist.
