The AAA Weekend Gas Watch put the statewide average gas price in Louisiana at $3.93 for a gallon regular unleaded as of Friday.
That price is down six cents from a week ago and is a $1.31 more than a year ago.
The national average stood at $4.14.
Gasoline supplies decreased while demand was slightly higher, but pump prices fell anyway because of the fluctuating price of crude.
The average price at the pump in New Orleans is $4. In Baton Rouge, it's $3.93.
