Danielle, Earl Churn In Atlantic

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center are watching two systems in the Atlantic: tropical storms Earl and Danielle. There is no threat to Louisiana from either system.

Tropical Storm Earl, which formed near the Leeward Islands Friday night, is forecast to curve away from land and remain over water.

While there are no coastal watches or warnings associated with Earl, the NHC does warn of gusty winds and heavy rainfall from the system impacting the Leeward Islands, U.S. and British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico over the weekend.

Danielle had weakened to a tropical storm as of Saturday, but forecasters expected the system will once again become a hurricane while meandering slowly over the north-central Atlantic.
