Scalise Faces Democrat, Libertarian Challengers For 1st District Seat

U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise of Metairie faces two challengers as he seeks his eighth term in Louisiana's 1st Congressional District.

Democrat Katie Darling and Libertarian Howard Kearney are also in the running.

Scalise and Darling are running campaign ads on TV, and Kearney is relying on videos posted to social media.

Scalise's ads target crime, illegal immigration, and the economy. Darling focuses on abortion, while Kearney touts constitutional liberty.

Scalise serves as the GOP House Minority Whip in the U.S. Congress.
