The New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board is dropping efforts to go after a rate hike in the near future.

The utility's executive director said on Wednesday there isn't enough support for higher rates right now.

The City Council questioned Executive Director Ghassan Korbhan about the embattled utility's ongoing issues.

Council members raised questions about why customers' bills are often inaccurate or late and the time it takes to repair roads after crews finish working in an area.
