Southeastern Louisiana is under hazy skies because of smoke from the wildfires in the western part of the state.

A cold front is blowing the smoke from the fires into the New Orleans area.

The smoky conditions could be with us through Tuesday, as the front becomes stationary over southeastern Louisiana.

Smoke in the upper atmosphere can mix with the air down to the surface, especially in the calm winds of the morning.

A statewide burn ban is in effect because of the drought and heat wave.
