Cleo Fields Announces Candidacy For New Louisiana Black Majority District

State Senator Cleo Fields is running for U. S. Congress in Louisiana's second black-majority congressional district.

The state legislature created the new district during a special session last week.

The new district covers parts of East and West Baton Rouge Parishes, Pointe Coupee Parish, and several other parishes across central Louisiana.

Fields serves the 14th Senate District, which is in Baton Rouge Parish and includes the LSU campus.

He was previously a state congressman.
