A New Orleans City Council committee is approving a fraction of the cost of three proposed upgrades to the Entergy New Orleans electric grid.

On Tuesday, Entergy proposed a transmission upgrade in New Orleans East, a battery storage system, and rebuilding and hardening the Sherwood Forest district grid.

The price tag for the projects would be $1 billion, but the council's Climate Change and Sustainability Committee approved only $106 million.
